Bingham Canyon Copper Mine

Yesterday we decided to visit the copper mine, it is less than a 10 minute drive from our house. They say it is the largest open pit mine in the world. There was a visitor's center with a short video about the mine.




This size of tire is used on the trucks below. They cost about $20,000 a piece and have to be replaced every 9 months. The trucks look tiny but they are as big as a house.




Inside the visitor's center, we had 2 extra kids today.




This is what it looks like from the outside of the mine. We can see this from our house, the colors look amazing.
